FACTION OVERVIEW
RESPECT BUDGET
Available for specials
Total respect minus permanent Core costs. Peace and War are separate loadouts.
Core, allocations and challenge unlocks explained
Core upgrades cannot be undone. We sum all purchased Core levels, then subtract that cumulative cost from total respect. This gives the reassignable budget for specials, regardless of which loadout is active.
Special upgrades use allocated respect that can be reassigned under Torn's switching rules. Per-loadout unallocated respect is the budget after Core minus the cumulative costs assigned to that loadout's special branches, including branch multipliers.
Challenge completion makes an upgrade eligible for selection; it is not another permanent Core expense. The upgrades endpoint lists Core and configured Peace/War perks, not the complete set of inactive levels eligible through completed challenges. An unlocked_at timestamp on a returned perk does not fill that gap.
Unknown levels, mismatched catalog costs or inconsistent negative balances are shown as unavailable. All calculated balances should be checked against Torn before use in a sale listing.
